I’ve found that given circumstances—fully understanding the setting, background, and stakes of a scene—really enhance my ability to immerse myself in a role Ive been able to do this many times in my diffrint plays like the ramyaan where I used the given circumstances to get in to ravans shows. Practicing actions and objectives, breaking down a script into what my character wants in each moment, makes performances feel more organic.
I've found Stanislavski's “Magic If” exercise incredibly useful for immersing myself in a character's world. It helps me explore authentic reactions by asking, "What would I do if I were in this situation?". Emotion memory has also been a game-changer - revisiting personal experiences allows me to bring deeper emotional truth to my performances. One of my favorites is tempo-rhythm, where I experiment with different speeds and intensities of movement to shape my character’s energy.
